Thomas Pender (b. Ireland 1860; m. Margaret Murphy, Montello, 1883; d. Montello, 1925; was dynamiter at Montello granite quarry);

John C. Murphy (b. Ireland 1836; m. Margaret Gorey, St. Marie, WI, 1856; d. Montello, 1894; was Montello blacksmith)

Bernard Gorey (b. Ireland about 1798; d. Montello, 1871; was Montello farmer)

Related Montello families include Avery, Callahan, Carr, Cotter, Crosby, Haley, and Leonard. These families were Irish Catholics. They attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello and many are buried in its cemetery.
