Gordon J. Dickenson, age 74, of Two Rivers, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 15, 1999, at Two Rivers Community Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 1999, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. William G. O'Brien, with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.
He was born December 12, 1925, at Neopit, Wis., son of the late Ira and Cora Lafond Dickenson. He attended schools in Neopit and Sheboygan. He worked at Jungs Shoe Factory in Sheboygan and the Manitowoc Shipyards before enlisting in the Navy. He served with the United States Navy from November 29, 1944, until March 11, 1946. On May 14, 1949, he married Anna Mae Jacobosky at St. Luke Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He was employed at Hamilton Mfg. Co. for 42 years, until his retirement in 1988. Gordon was a member of the Men of Holy Redeemer and the Veteran's of Foreign War. He served as a past Boy Scout leader and devoted many years of service as an attendant with the Two Rivers Religious Education Program.
Gordon enjoyed gardening and working in his workshop.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hilmore and Augusta Jacobosky.
Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church after 9 a.m. Saturday, until the time of mass at 11 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
