Renita Mae Waubanascum
Renita Mae Waubanascum, age 60, of Keshena, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Keshena.
Born on Oct. 18, 1949 in Keshena, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Mary Ann (Waupoose) Waubanascum. Renita lived her entire life on the Menominee Indian Reservation and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as going to the casino, shooting pool, playing bingo and cards, and was a Packer fan.
Renita is survived by: five children, Laura (William) Corn Sr., Dana (Muriel) Madosh, Sr., Lonia (Kurt) Komanekin, Randal (Traci) Madosh, Jr., Jessie (Anthony) Corn; special daughters, Corrina (Jake) Wayka, Jerrilynn Waukau; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Janet (Bill) Sechrist, Alfred (Rose) Waubanascum, William (Kathy) Waubanascum, Frances Kakwitch, Gerald Waubanascum; and special friends, Esaw Madosh, Becky Madosh, Margie Fossum and Glenda Waubanascum.
Renita was preceded in death by: Randal L. Madosh, Sr.; a son, Curtis Robert Madosh; great-grandchild, Jace Anthony Madosh; her parents, William and Mary Ann Waubanascum; sister, Norma Jean (Donald) Boivin; brother-in-law, Warren “Poochie” Kakwitch, Sr.; two sisters in infancy; and special friend, Sharon Madosh-Corn.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit with the Rev. David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family and friends may call at Neopit Community Center after 6 p.m. on Thursday until the time of the service on Saturday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at the Community Center on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano is assisting the family with the arrangements.www.swedbergfuneralhome.com
