NAME & ADDRESS:
Winona C. Kaquatosh, age 22, of Neopit, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 20,2001, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident, along with her fiance, Ricardo Cortez.
BIRTH & PARENTS:
Winona was born Oct. 19, 1979, in Shawano, a daughter of Janice Kaquatosh-Williams and the late Saul Yellow Thunder.
INTERESTS - EMPLOYMENT:
She graduated from the Oneida Nation High School in 1997. She had currently been employed at the Menominee Casino and the Shawano Wal-Mart. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the fall of 1999.
Survivors include: her daughter, Savannah Cortez-Kaquatosh of Neopit; her mother, Janice (Edmund) Kaquatosh-Williams of Suamico; three brothers, Jason, T.J., and
Jesse Kaquatosh-Williams of Suamico; one stepbrother, Edmund Williams of Cass Lake, Minn.; a stepsister, Nicole Williams of Minneapolis, Minn.; her maternal grandmother, Karen T. Kaquatosh of Neopit; her paternal grandmother, Sylvia Yellow Thunder of Hot Springs, S.D.; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL:
A traditional Big Drum Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. at the Zoar Ceremonial Building. Billy Daniels will officiate. Interment will be in the Zoar Burial Ground. Friends may call on Monday and Tuesday at the Zoar Ceremonial Building. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano is in charge of arrangements.
