Shirley Ann Daly

Shirley Ann Daly, age 61, Keshena, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, in Shawano.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1939, at Keshena, the daughter of the late Sanford and Louise (Pecore) Fowler Sr. She was married on June 1, 1960, in Chicago, Ill., to Arthur W. Daly. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She lived in this area most of her life and was very active in community affairs. She served as a member and chairperson for the Restoration Committee, a member of the Menominee Tribal Legislature, was a member and past chairperson for the Menominee Tribal Enterprises and was a member of their Board of Directors, served as an executive director of DRUMS. She was the former owner and manager of the Wolf River Trading Post and served as the resource director for the College of Menominee Nation.

She is survived by: her husband, Arthur; brothers and sisters, Joan (Buddy) Maskewit, Neopit; Clara (Stanley) Otto, Shawano, Eugene (Diane) Fowler, Milwaukee, Sanford (Doris) Fowler Jr., Neopit, Sister Verna Fowler, Keshena, Bernard Fowler Sr., Keshena, Leon (Angel) Fowler, Keshena, Albert (Eva) Fowler, Keshena, Joan Delabrue, Shawano, Luanna Boyd, Keshena, Jeanette Trost, Keshena; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Marlene and Calvin Fowler, Llewellyn Dickson, Andrea Klitz and Francis Delabrue.

Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Neopit with Father David Kiefer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Menominee Community Center in Neopit after 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, until the time of services on Monday. There will be a parish wake service at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Swedberg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A memorial fund has been established.
