I am interested in finding out any information I can about my grandparents who were Swiss immigrants who initially setteled in Monroe, WI. I will list the minimal amount of information I have about them below.
My Grandfather -
Karl Frick b July 31, 1889 in Switzerland - d November 17, 1972 in St. Croix Co, WI, town of Glenwood City bu in Oak Grove cemetry in Tomah, WI
I always heard that he may have made 2 trips to the US before settling here. I believe he may have immigrated with at least 2 brothers whose names I do not know. I always heard that he came from the Simmental valley region and that his father was a casket maker.
My Grandmother -
Emma Frick b November 18, 1891 in Switzerland d November 14, 1962 in St. Croix Co, WI, town of Glenwood City bu in Oak Grove cemetry in Tomah, WI
I believe her maiden was "Berger" and that she may have immigrated with at least 2 sisters.
I believe that my grandparents immigrated around their late teens or
early twenties or around 1908-1910 to the Monroe WI area.
Ancestry.com shows the birth records for their 9 living children
beginning from 1916. Their childrens' names in age order from oldest to youngest were Lucy, Margaret, Freida, Emil (my father), Alice, Frances, Elsie, Adolph and Carl.
They later settled near Tomah, WI when the kids grew up. They then moved to St. Croix county in northwestern WI and were dairy farmers there, as was my father. My father "Emil Wilhelm Frick" was born May 24, 1920 in Monroe, Green Co, WI and died December 9, 1982 in Glenwood City, WI.
I would love to know anything I can about Karl and Emma Frick - why they came to WI , where they came from, their Swiss origins - what their families did and where they were born.
I would also like to find out anything I can about their siblings who may have immigrated with them and any of their living descendants.
