Monroe County, Sparta, Wisconsin. Does anyone know if there was a Lost Children's Cemetery in Sparta, Wisconsin. My grandfather, Bidwell David Hall, had a baby sister born May 15, 1901. When the mother, Onelia Hall, died six weeks after the baby girl was born, it is told the baby went to an orphanage in Sparta, WI. My grandfather went to the same orphanage (Bidwell David Hall)and he had another sister, Nina Mildred Hall, who was sent by their father to live and work on a local farm. The reason they were sent away was because the new mother, Louise Hall did not want them to live with her (she had other children). Austin Hall lived on Main Street, Sparta in 1901 at the time of Onelia's death. Would there be any record of a Lost Children's Cemetery in Sparta? We do not know the baby's name, but she died several weeks after she was taken to the orphanage (we know she was born May 15, 1901). We would like to find the cemetery and we think it might be near the orphanage? Any help is appreciated.
