very strange - I cannot find WW11 draft.... under any christian name...

just ploughed thro the 1940 census &

are still in Bovina
with a lodger Robert Shimke b WI aged 13

I cannot find him on the SS listings (from 1951)

he was blind in one eye in the WW1 draft - could something have happen to his other eye and he was sent off somewhere????
