I am researching the WEDEWART family, which settled in Wisconsin in June1854. John (Johann Friedrich) WEDEWART settled at that time in Thiensville or Mequon, Ozaukee County. He enlisted in 42nd Illinois Infantry.
Louise RAMIEN married J. Michael HAUCKE in Mequon on 1 May 1855. Louise was the daughter of Michael and Maria RAMIEN. I also suspect that she was the widow of Christian WEDEWART, John's brother.

The above named people moved to Ahnapee (Algoma) Wis. in the early 1860's. Their descendants spread to Sturgeon Bay, Green Bay, Seymour, and Florence County.

Three sisters of John and Christian Wedewart also settled in Wisconsin, possibly originally in Ozaukee Co.:

Caroline (1828 - ?) married Friedrich Christian POTHAST and died in the state of Iowa.

Wilhelmine (1837 - ?) married Adam GERNER and settled in the village of Mazomanie, Dane Co., Wis., where he was a stone mason

(Marie) Fredericka (1840-1897) married John Carl LINK and settled in Baraboo, Wis., where he was a jeweler.
Also researching information on VOGELER, GRISAR, and JAEGER families.
