WILLIAM F. WILKE
William F. Wilke, 89, of 440 W.Grand Ave., Port Washington, a retired grocer, died after being stricken with an apparent heart attack at his home Tuesday afternoon.
Born in Port Washington Sept. 5, 1880, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Wilke*, he married Christine Van Liere June 29, 1922. He operated a retail grocery store in Port Washington from 1916-41, when he retired.
He was a member of Frieden's United Church of Christ, Garden Club, charter member of Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, served on the Port Washington school board, 50-year member of the Port Washington Cemetery Association and the Ozaukee CCounty Historical Society. Survivors are his wife; one son, William, Appleton, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday at Frieden’s United Church of Christ, Port Washington, with the Rev. Philip Schowalter, pastor; officiating. Burial will be in the Port Washington Union Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Poole Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
