Eugene "Gene" Edward Rouleau, Centuria, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at
the age of 71.
Gene, the son of Leo and Goldie (Christie) Rouleau, was born Sept. 28, 1930,
in Eagle Point Township. As a child he attended school in Jim Falls and
Holcombe. On Sept. 7, 1950, he married Lillian Warwick. After their
marriage, they moved frequently until 1961 when they settled down in River
Falls. Here Gene worked at Vollrath Refrigeration for 18 years as a machinist.
In 1980 they decided they needed a change and moved to Centuria, where
Gene owned and operated Gene's Towing Service until his retirement.
Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering in his workshop, and the great
outdoors. He loved being with family most of all, traveling to all family
functions, wherever they were.
Gene leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Lillian; five daughters, Roxanne
(David) Hatch, Denise (Jim) Albrecht, Deborah (William) Junkman, Romona
(Kenneth) Avers, Faith (Kevin) Cook; two sons, Lynn (Judy) Rouleau, Richard
(Cari) Rouleau; and his special friends, he adopted as a son, John (Mary)
Swager; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven sisters; one brother;
and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Goldie Rouleau;
stepmother Violet; a brother, Wilfred Rouleau; and a great-granddaughter
A memorial service was held Nnov. 24 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in
Centuria with Father Thomas Thompson officiating.
