Nicholas Funk and Eva Frederick Funk

Classification: Query
Surnames: Funk/Funck
I would be interested in hearing from anyone descended from Nicholas Funk and his wife Eva Frederick, farmers in Raymond Township, and then later in Somers Township in Kenosha County, in the mid-to-late 1800s. Their son Theodore Funk (m. Margaret Theis) and grandson Theodore William Funk, Jr. were also farmers in Somers. Another son of Nicholas named Adam Funk is also featured on page 417 of the Grassroots History of Racine County.

Nicholas Funk (or Funck) emigrated to Wisconsin from Germany in 1855. It is possible that Nicholas came from the village of Eisenach by Trier, and had a half-brother named Paul Funck who emigrated to Brazil. One of Paul's many descendents is a gentleman named Mr. Elvio Funck who currently resides in Brazil and would very much like to get in touch with any descendents of Nicholas Funk who are interested in genealogy and could shed any light on Nicholas' voyage to America. Mr. Elvio Funck speaks and writes perfect English. If anyone is related to this Funk family and is interested, please reply to this post and I can put you in touch with him.
