H. F. Meyer, 81,
Dies in Waukesha
CALDWELL - Herman F. Meyer, 81, former Waterford resident and member of the Norway Lutheran Church, died Tuesday in the Waukesha Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 9, 1876, and was married to the former Clara Hanson, who died Feb. 9, 1956.
He came to the United States from Germany when he was 7 years old. A former resident of the Town of Waterford, he worked on farms near Burlington, Spring Prairie and Caldwell. he and the former Clara Hanson, Tichigan, were married Dec. 14, 1904, and lived on a truck farm in the Town of Waterford for 45 years. They observed their 50th wedding anniversary in December, 1954, in the Norway Parish Unit.
Survivors include eight daughters and one son, Mrs. Marius Olsen, Milwaukee; Mrs. James Bertelson, Sturtevant, Mrs. Jean Heacox, Big Bend; Mrs. T. R. Warner, Milwaukee; Mrs. Clarence Seitz, Racine; Mrs. Fred White, Mrs. Oliver Canada, West Allis; Mrs. Clarence Wendler, Muskego, with whom he made his home, and Lewis F. Meyer of Waterford. He also is survived by 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Norway Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles Paulson officiating.
