Loyd Cemetery has a listing for a William J WOOD 1866-1868, son of Jesse L & Eliz WOOD, although the 1900 census lists Elizabeth with a daughter Nettie 12 years old, stating that she has one of one children living, was William her son also? There is also a listing for Eliz WOOD, wife of Jesse 1845-____. Did Elizabeth remarry after Jesse died and is buried with her new husband, is she buried with other family members of her own family ???? Is she buried there and the year never got put on the stone ????
Homestead SW 1/4 of NW 1/4 of Section 24 - $2000
[this conflicts with the inventory above stating this parcel is $700]
household furniture - $150, 2 cows $150, 1 horse 22 years old - $70, 1 buggy - $10
There were no receipts for the $5 each for his three children although the $15 was listed on the final account.
I would conclude from this will that Jesse and Elizabeth never actually married, they had no surviving children, Jesse's 3 children from his first marriage must not have been on very good terms with their father as they only recieved $5 each.
