Coleman DuPee's (1829-1889) parents?

Classification: Query
Surnames: DuPee, Catlin, Ford
I hope I'm adding this thread correctly to the previous threads concerning Coleman DuPee and Olive Catlin. I'm desperately trying to find Cleman's parents. I have many sources confirming Coleman and his relationships but nothing about his parents. He was born in 1829 in New York and made his way to Wisconsin, and later Greenville, MI where he was murdered in his home for his money and the home was burned down around his body. I had heard this story in the family and have a short letter from a Laura A. Ford DuPee (who I have yet to connect to my tree) recounting the story. What intrigues me is the fact that the legal proceedings for the murder trial and the newspaper clippings (and Laura's letter for that matter) indicate that he was a miser or hermit and living alone. Olive, his wife, lived until 1919, so they were either divorced or separated (which was very taboo back then) or something else is awry. Any help is much appreciated!
