Charles Morgan, 510 East Main Street, passed away at his home Wednesday morning at the age of eighty-one years.
He was born on the Erie Canal, near Syracuse, N. Y., March 28, 1838. At the age of 14 he came to Wisconsin, and excepting seven years spent in Iowa, he has resided in Rock County for 61 years and in Evansville since 1894.
He was united in marriage to Eleanor Ann Fountain, Town of Porter, Rock County, Wisconsin, October 6, 1860.
He leaves to mourn his loss, besides the widow, one sister, Miss Helen Morgan, Aurora, Ill., three children, Mrs. Ella Baines, Janesville; Albert of this city, and Archie of Madison; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the residence, Rev. Misdall officiating.

Evansville--One of Evansville's oldest residents, Mrs. Charles Morgan, 88, died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the home of her son, Bert Morgan, East Main Street. She had been in failing health for a long time and was seriously ill for several weeks.
Mrs. Morgan, formerly Eleanor Fountain, was born July 24, 1843, on a farm east of Evansville where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Charles Morgan and they made their home in Evansville for many years. Mr. Morgan died Feb. 4, 1918 and the past four years Mrs. Morgan had made her home with her son and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by two sons, Bert Morgan, Evansville, and Archie Morgan, Madison and one daughter, Mrs. Ella Baines, 326 North Pine Street, Janesville; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Allen's funeral home.
