Did you find any information on Daniel Nichols?
I am looking for a Daniel Nichols who was a marine and was sent to Okinowa in June of 1962. He was stationed at Quantico Va. Around that time. I spoke to him in 1980 and he said he lived in Wisconsin.
I have been trying to find him for many years. I am looking for a Daniel Nichols who was friends with Charlie Hooper. He is believed to be the father of my twin and I.

I have found the obit for Christian V. Carlson online:

http://newspaperarchive.com/bruce-news-letter/1949-04-07/pag...
Carlson, Christian 1880-1949
SERVICES HELD FOR CHRISTIAN CARLSON, 68
A former Ladysmith resident, Christian Carlson, 68, who was well known in the Bruce community, suffered fatal injuries March 26 at Hammond, Indiana, when he tried to cross a street in a blinding rain. Struck by a car driven by C.J. Krug of Hammond, Mr. Carlson died in a hospital shortly after the accident.
Funeral services were held last week Tuesday at Hammond with the Rev. G.R. Krupp officiating. The body was sent to Ladysmith for further services Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Ritger's to Hope Lutheran Church, with Rev. Henry Erickson officiating. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Carlson was born June 9, 1880, at Heddemarker, Norway. He was united in marriage to Mary Martinson also of Norway. They went to Ladysmith May 17, 1900 where they lived until 1931, when Mrs. Carlson passed away. Mr. Carlson has since resided with his son, Edwin, in Hammond, Indiana.
To this union were born seven children: Edna Irene who preceded him in death while in infancy; Rose Scoville, Robert Carlson and Walter Carlson, all of Chicago; Ed of Hammond, Indiana; Martha Eckman of Minneapolis, and Margaret Knudson of Fergus Falls, Minn. Surviving are also 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Carlson was employed at the Ladysmith paper mill and the Flambeau Lumber company for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Carlson were charter members of Hope Lutheran church.
During the last four years Mr. Carlson was custodian of a school in Hammond. He was deeply loved by all children, teachers and members of the faculty. He leaves behind a host of friends.
[Bruce News-Letter - April 7, 1949, Bruce, Wisconsin]
My grandpa (Henry Butts) who I never met because my Mom (Joan Loretta Butts (Saur) was adopted when she was 2 yrs old, was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin around 1908. I don't have his exact birth date, I'm just going off of my Mom's original birth certificate and she was born in 1939, he was 31 yrs old. My Mom was born in Rockford, IL and Henry was married to Cleona Saur from Oregon, IL. If anyone has any information please contact me: csv68@live.com

Yes it would seem we are cousins of some sort, 3rd I think. Your father was the son of Yelmer and Mabel. Mabel was the daughter of Edward and Edward was the son of Comfort Tiffany and brother to my Great grandmother, Helen M. Tiffany. I have the Shaw (Helen married Alvin Briggs Shaw),Horton, Tiffany and Lilly (Comfort married Hannah Lillie or Lilly on Ancestory dot com. It has all the ancestors, but no information on your side of the family. I would love that information too. If you have any trouble finding the tree, email me at Sadi01@AOL.com. Please tell me where you live. We were located at a campground not far from Richford for every summer from 2001-2009. Now I am in Minnesota not far fro another cousin of the Tiffany line, Helen's sister Annette.

Assistance for a family I am helping

Hi fellow genealogists,
I am wondering if anyone in this area would be ever so kind to do a Obit and death look-up for me? Also one birth look-up.

The obit and death look-up is for a gentleman named: Josef (Joseph) KLIMENT b. apx. 1883 unkn for sure and death year for certain is 1916. Found info. someone from the area stated he was killed at the mill and there is a white wooden cross at Holy Hill Cemetery for Josef.
The birth look-up I am seeking would be for his daughter Rivina (Rosa) KLIMENT b. apx. 1918 I have suspicions that josef may not be her biological father as she was born more than a year after he had passed. Interesting to say the least. Possible that the death year was being recalled wrongly. Can someone please clear these things up for me so I can help the family get the "real" answers.
Thank you so much for your time and any help,
Tammy ETIENNE
Director of: Kewaunee County Historical Society

I know this is an old post, but it relates to info I am searching for. Florence (Berthiaume) Johnson is my great-grandmother. Her son, Morris Johnson was my grandfather that I never got to meet since he died suddenly when my mom, Margaret Johnson, was only 17. I am reaserching my grandfathers side and not finding a lot, so I appreciate finding out a little more about Florence's parents, etc.

Thanks,
Rebecca

I wish I had all of our information. My grandma had traced our families back many many generations and had it all documented. This was one of her favorite things to do. She had albums full of pictures like what you posted and I remember seeing that one in particular over the course of my childhood.
Unfortunately, I do not have any of the photos or documentation but my uncle and mom (Rosma's children) do. I will give this link to them and hopefully they will be in contact with you.
I used to love looking at all of the photos and read everything grandma wrote about the family members. Such treasures. I was always the one to listen intently as grandma would tell me stories. I was sad to say I do not remember all of the information but hope to jump on board ancestry.com to do some research on my own.
I will get back to you or my mom or uncle will.
Thanks for getting back to me.
Wendi
Hi Wendi, I'm still here. I was mainly wondering how our families are related on the Rathbun line. My husband Mark's 3rd g. grandfather was James Eldred Rathun. James > Caroline Rathbun Leigh Love > Osmer Leigh > Julia Leigh Waller > Mahlon Waller > Mark.

Which line are you? Do you have any original photos, such as the attached? I have some info on Giles & Justus Rathbun, Olive Rathbun McNabb.

They are buried a few rows that way, past where that little building with the watering spot used to be, I think they've removed that building since like 2010.?? Hope that helps.
I am trying to find my great grandmother's burial location. She was Helen A (Yule) Whiteaker, 1851-1910. She, with her husband Francis M Whiteaker, moved to Ladysmith sometime between 1900 - 1905. She died April 1910. After her death, my great grandfather removed to Polk County where he resided with their daughter & her family. I'm unable to travel to Wisconsin to research there. Any help locating her obituary, or other source to give burial location would be much appreciated! Thank you, Carol

Nothing really new on Maurice Thankful Moore, other than she was commonly known as "Ted" or "Teddy." Nicknamed for Teddy Roosevelt, as I was told. I met Warren Moore in 1957 at the Miiliner Hotel in Sacramento where he worked some for his daughter, Marian, who was the manager. My Mother, the late Ila Bess Hebard Tackitt Deter, 1914-2004, was Warren's cousin on her Mother's side (Mary Elizabeth Moore, 1886-1916), from Pardeeville & Ladysmith, Wisc.
I do have several photos of the family.
Chet and Freda are buried in Cornell. They lived in the alley across from the hall that the 50th anniversary celebration took place. Chet and Freda were my maternal grandparents. They were the best! Frank lived with Chet and Freda in Cornell until he died. I'm not sure where he was buried but do know the family was from Ladysmith.

Chet and Freda Demars were my maternal grandparents. Frank Demars lived with them in Cornell because my mother remembers Grandpa Frank living in a small guest house in their back yard. I see records show Frank died in 1949. I don't have any pictures of Frank or Mary so any you can post would be helpful. I know this posting is three years later than your original post and since then, you have added Freda Demars (Lawrence) to your tree. I remember her talking about Avery quite a bit and probably met him when I was younger but I can't remember. Freda spoke about a brother who died from drowning. Any idea which brother this was?
