Thorvald was married to Doris:(Eau Claire Leader-Telegram newspaper) Doris Adeline Thompson, 93, of Chippewa Falls, died Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Dallas Healthcare Center in Dallas.
She was born October 14, 1913, in Cadott to Eline I. (Hendrickson) and Torger Bremness. She grew up on a farm in the town of Sigel, and graduated from Cadott High School in 1932. While attending the vocational school in Eau Claire for secretarial training, she lived with her grandparents in Shaw Town.
Doris married Thorval A. Thompson on March 29, 1934, in Chippewa County. After raising her children, she got a job as a nurses aid at the Northern Center, and worked there for many years. After her husband's death in 1969, she traveled to Norway with her sisters and to other places to visit relatives.Survivors include her two daughters, Judith (Dale) Berg of Wisconsin Rapids and Dorothea Panosh of Chippewa Falls; four grandchildren, Vanessa (Kari Mero) Panosh of Chippewa Falls, Dale (Katherine) Berg of Philadelphia, Pa., Laura Berg of Wisconsin Rapids, Julie Berg of Milwaukee; nine great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Berg, Melissa and Nicholas Christensen, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Brandi Derks of London, England, Stephanie and Sara Berg, both of Waukesha, Brian, Michael and Christopher Berg, all of Philadelphia; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret Waldusky and Phyllis Weltzin; four brothers, Thomas, Einar, Irvin and Ralph Bremness.
