Surnames: Lamere, Lemere, Lemieux
I am looking for any information on my gr-grandmother Mathilde Lemieux, born about 1841. I found an 1850 Wisconsin Census for Two Rivers Township, WI (near where my grandfather was raised) showing a Matilda (9 yrs.) in the family of A.D. Lamere (from Canada) and mother Hannah from Scotland. A.D. (also noted as Adolph D) Lamere was born in Canada around 1820 and came to the USA sometime before 1840. Mathilde married Daniel Gill and lived in Sheboygan, WI

The "Lemieux" name came from the marriage record of my grandfather, where it listed his mother as "Mary Lemieux". The LDS FamilySearch lists Daniel Gill and Mathilde "Lemere" as parents of my grandfather and his siblings.
