I am looking for information about a Frederic Thut(age 9) who came from Switzerland on Sept 19, 1883 with his mother Bertha Thut who was married to Samuel and he was already here. Siblings,Gottlieb Thut (age 12), Adolphe(age 7) and sister Pauline (age 3) also arrived on same ship, the France.
As a young man, Frederic Thut went hunting north of Medford and encountered a deer which he shot but apparently the deer attacked him and he died. He was hunting in the fall and he was not found until spring. I have found no record of burial and am not sure of the date of death. I would think this may have happened in the late 1890's or early 1900's. Does anyone have any information or have heard about this incident?
Would be most grateful.
