Stroke at Sister's Grave Fatal for Galesville Woman
Galesville, Wis. -(Special)- Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the French Creek Lutheran church for Mrs. Otis Dahl, 60, who died at the Whitehall hospital Saturday morning.
Mrs. Dahl suffered a stroke Wednesday afternoon at the Chimney Rock cemetery, where she had gone to visit the grave of her sister, Mrs. Melvin Olson. She was taken by ambulance to Whitehall, where she remained in a critical condition until her death.
Hannah Gilbertson was born at Chimney Rock, November 7, 1881 [and] lived in Trempealeau county all her life. She was married to Otis Dahl, May 30, 1898 and they made their home in French Creek valley.
Eight of their nine children survive. They are: Mrs. Gilbert Berg, Whitehall; Roy, Alvin, Mrs. Ervin Wooley, and Mrs. Edward La Fleur, all of La Crosse; Lester, Galesville, and Milford and Gerald, Kenyon, Minn. Also surviving are her husband, brother, Gustave Gilbertson, Elk Creek; sister, Mrs. William Mazzoni, Eau Claire, and 21 grandchildren. A son, Vilas, died in May, 1938.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1 p.m. and at the church at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the French Creek cemetery.
