"Frederick John Stellpflug, ... son of John Alois ... born in Westphalia, Germany Sept. 28, 1838, and came to the United States in 1847, locating at Milwaukee, where he resided for about seven years ..."
There's a really cool notice in local German newspapers published by a Johann Stellpflug in 1847 looking for his brother Hermann Stellpflug from Westphalen. Johann and his parents have arrived in "Milwaukie, W.T." (Wisconsin Territory), but Hermann was last known to be in the "Delaware-Hudson-Canal" area.
Talk about reliving a moment the lives of our ancestors!
