"William" is an alternative first name for Walenty/Valentine Bambenek. The Winona, MN newspapers of the time listed him as "William," "Wm." and even "Bill" Bambenek.

I am the great, great granddaughter of Alfred Barlow and Fanny Calder. I have been desperately searching for Alfred Barlow's parents for years now and just stumbled across this posting! I looked up the land grants for William and geographically they made sense with Alfred's move to stake a claim in Yellow Medicine Co. MN. I knew that Alfred had attended Galesville University and that prompted me to look at the surrounding area. I am beyond thrilled! I don't have more info on the other children, but do know that Milton is buried in Arcadia. I have family photos I'd be happy to share! Please tell me what is your connection with the family? I live in England now and am eager to learn where they started out over here.
Hope to hear back soon! Kindly, Dawn

I don't know if either of you will still get this after all these years, but my family may be related to yours. My name is Joe Heath. I am looking for any info on either Travis Davis b. abt 1817 or his wife Martha Clark b. abt 1817 as well. The first time I see them show up is the 1850 census in Savanna, Carroll, IL. They had a lady by the name of Delight Hartsough living with them, and I did contact a few relatives of hers and no one had any idea why she was boarding with them or if they were related.

They had 8 kids that I know of: Andrew J, Artemiser, Robert, William W., James, Charles, Samuel, and Edward F. (my 2nd great grandfather). In Edward's obituary, it says that there are 13 kids total, but I have no idea about the other names.

I know that after Savanna, IL, they moved to Richmond, Stearns, MN for a short time, then to Winona, Winona, MN/Trempealeau, Trempealeau, WI (basically the same area).

Any information would be greatly appreciated. My email is joejohnheath@hotmail.com.

Hello Everyone,

I am interested in corresponding with any descendants, of William Raichle (1831 to 1925), parents Jacob and Barbara Raichle, who might still be in the Trempealeau County area. William is my great great grandfather, one of his daughters Emma (Raichle) Martell is my great grandmother.

I have pictures of their old homestead in Galesville and I am interested in traveling to the area this summer to see what I can discover. I have the legal description of the land if anyone could maybe tell me if the homestead still exists?

Last record I can find is that the homestead was owned by Bernard Wood, whose wife was Margaret (Raichle) Wood, daughter of William and Myrtle Raichle.

Thanks so much in advance

Ed

Hi,

I'm looking for information about Gunder Pederson/Peterson and his family who lived in on a farm in Hale, Trempealeau, Wisconsin.
Gunder was born in Elverum, Norway in 16.09.1851 before he emigrated to America in 1883. On 28.05.1885 he married Eline Mattson/Mathison, born 1847 in Norway or Sweden, emigrated 1876.
They had a daughter, Mina Beate/Minnie, who was born in 1889.
Eline died in 1922 and Gunder was buried from the Chimney Rock church on the 5th of February 1931.

Gunder was my great grandfather's uncle. My great grandfather was called Bernt Olsen Graabergsveen (born 1888) and he emigrated to the US in 1907, one year after his brother Paul (born 1886) had gone the same way. We have no idea where they settled, but on the immigration form they filled in that they were going to visit their uncle in Strum, Wisconsin. The Graabergsveen name is pretty unique, so they most likely used Olsen, which is pretty common.

So, if anyone knows more about the Peterson/Pederson family from Hale, their daugther, where they lived etc, please don't hesitate to contact me.

John Damascus Bambenek was born 15 Dec 1881 in Minnesota to Valentine Bambenek and Pauline Ruszek who were both Polish immigrants. Dr. Bambenek, an allopath, got his medical training c. 1908 at Northwestern Medical School/ Chicago Medical School and was licensed 1909. He married Boleslawa L. ("Bertha") Wawrzynski (c.1889-1974), the daughter of Wladyslawa Wawarzynski and Bronislawa Mrozinski, on 9/11/1912 at St. Hyacinth in Chicago. Their happiness was short-lived. Dr. Bambenek died of pneumonia on 1/6/1915 and was buried on 1/9/1915 at St. Adelbert's. Bertha remarried (Thad Menczynski) a few years later.

I am aware of one child, Romona, who was just a baby when Dr. B died, and who in 1920 is listed as living with her aunt, Blanche Wawrzynski on Diversey Ave., per the 1920 census. To my knowledge Romona was the child of Dr. John and Bertha, not the child of Valentine. Who is William?

If you have more info on Romona or any descendants of Dr. John D. Bambenek -- never heard of Damien -- please post.

Hi there. Albert Hendrickson was my Great Grandfather. He was born December 1870 in Wisconsin. His wife is listed at Tillie in the census but her name was Thea Karoline _____. Her last name is recorded as Bruhella but I always thought it was Brohelden. Her mother was Kjerste Linderushagen, who immigrated with her father Peder L. from Norway. Children of Albert and Thea =
Minnie Hazel (married Manchuk)
Leonora (died at approx 9 months)
Oscar Howard
Clarence
Leonora (married Rasmussen)
Norval

If you are still watching this thread, I'd be interested in exchanging information.

Again, William was born in Wisconsin somewhere between Pierce County and the Illinois border since he died in 1884 in DuPage Co., Illinois. Please check the courthouse for birth records. Thanks.

I have all that information....what I want to know is WHERE in Wisconsin Charles and William were born. I would check the courthouse or wherever the birth records are kept to see if they are listed in there under the 1874 and 1876 dates. Thanks!!
