I have a possible match for you--but am not sure.
Lyle K. McFarlane was born 6 February 1902 in Otter Tail County, Minnesota, presumably at Parkers Prairie, where his family lived at the time. His father was Edmund McFarlane (1862-1935), who ran a harness shop in Parkers Prairie for many years. His mother was Mary Etta Taylor (1866-1903). He was their youngest child.
Lyle graduated from Parkers Prairie High School on 2 June 1921, one of a class of seven graduates.
In September 1921, the local paper reported the was going to Minneapolis to attend the "Collegiate Business college." In January 1922, the same school (apparently) was described as the "Minneapolis Collegiate Institute."
In August 1923, he was reported playing in the orchestra of a traveling show troupe that performed at Millerville, near Parkers Prairie.
On 8 November 1923, he was reportedly staying with his sister, Elsie Pearl McFarlane (Mrs. Charles Ernest or Ernst) at Egeland, Towner County, North Dakota.
In October 1935, when he attended the funeral of his brother, Dr. Lloyd Edmund McFarlane (1895-1935), Lyle was listed as living in "Minnesota."
The obituary for his uncle,Robert McFarlane (1850-1940), lists "Mr. and Mrs. Lyle McFarlane, Viroqua, Wis." among the out-of-town attendees. It appears that he got married sometime between October 1935 and July 1940, but the McFarlane family history to which I have access does not have any name for the wife.
The McFarlane family history does list one child for Lyle, but she is identified as "Loy McFarlane", not Vivian. I have no more information about her.
From the SSDI, it appears that Lyle died in October 1979, possibly at Viroqua, Vernon County, Wisconsin, which is listed as the address to which his last Social Security benefits were sent.
