I believe the woman you were in contact with was Rose Martens, my paternal grandmother, she was the daughter of John and Henriette Gudegast of Eagle River, WI. Rose married John Martens and they had two sons, John and Hans, Hans is my father. I'm not sure what additional information you are looking for but I would be happy to help if I can. I have a Vilas County history book that has a short article about John Gudegast and his family. I can dig it out if you are interest in more information.
