Classification: Cemetery
Surnames: Dalton
I am doing research on Amanda (Dexter) Dalton (1835-1896) and John Dalton (1827-1908) of Walworth Co. Wisconsin. During their marriage they moved back and forth between Wisconsin and Michigan with children born in both places. In 1880 Moses Dexter (Amanda’s father) was living with them in Wisconsin and supposedly died there. I have gone through all of your cemetery records on your site and have located Daltons in the East Delavan Cemetery. There is an unknown grave mixed in with the Daltons there of whom many have familiar names of the family: Henry John, two Johns, Ellen, Josephine, etc. Is it possible the grave could be that for Moses Dexter? Would there be a death certificate for him in Wisconsin? The only other Dexter I could find was one of two Dexters in Unknown burials. The other Dexter there was a Betsey King Dexter. That name does not appear in any family record.
Any help that you could give me and send about the Daltons would be most helpful - those buried in the cemetery or otherwise. There is also a person listed on your site – a Laurie Johnson who has done research on the Daltons (1844-1930). How can I get in touch with her?
Thank you for all of your effort!! Mary Ellen Hermann
