Hello, I am not related. I did some guesswork here with the documents I found, and came to this conclusion. Hope this helps. RP
------------
It seems like Elmer had a brother Eddie and a sister Grace, who married Ira Swartz, and it looks like their mother may have been Hattie Fuller. Assuming she died, John then married Dimmie? Griffin, and had more children, Iva, Ora, Leo, Ada, Tina, & Ruth.

Census records show that Grace was born in Nebraska. Elmer seems to have been born in Exira, Iowa, according to his WWI draft card.

Demmie (could this be your Emma?) may have died in Scott, Burnett County, Wisconsin, or Spooner, Washburn County. John most likely died in Spooner.

According to a headstone application for elmer by his son Theodore, Elmer is buried in Spooner.

The 1900 census for Emmet County, Iowa shows John & Demmie married 3 years. Their 2 children at this time were Ivah & Ora. The other 3 children seems to have been from a 1st marriage......

Demmie Bruner, wife, age 32, married 3 years, 2 children, 2 living, born Mar 1868 Iowa, father born Canada, mother born Vermont

Ivah Bruner, daughter, age 1, born Aug 1898 Iowa, parents born Iowa

I couldn't find Elmer in the 1920 census, but his WWI draft card shows he was living in Minnesota in 1917. The 1930 census shows Elmer now married to Flossie, and their 4 children, Russel, Leonard, Arvid, & Theodore, and Elmer's 3 stepchildren, Paul, Wilfred, and Donald St. Hilaire.

Flossie & her 1st husband, and 3 children were living in Spooner in 1920, so Elmer & Flossie most likely got married there.....
