Did you have male ancestors in Washington Co. in the 1860's? Please read.

If you had ancestors who were either teens or twenty-somethings during the 1860's, there is a very good chance they were a Union soldier. I'd be happy to check a book I own to see if they were in the Wisconsin 26th Infantry also known as the Washington County Rifles. They were also known as the Siegel Regiment. Washington Co. was predominantly German-American, but there are a few Irish-American men who were in the 26th, including my g-grandmother's brother. Let me know if you want me look for your ancestor. Am happy to do so.
