According to the 1860 census, Catherine bore him 2 sons; Frederick and John, and perhaps Jacob, born 2 years before they were wed. (Barbara had already borne him Franziska, Viktoria and Severine). My question; what happened to John (b1853/4)? Fridolin and Catherine are buried in the cemetery of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Addison.
