I also have a John Schuster married to Kunigunde Sauer. The wierd thing is that I have Kunigunde's birthday the same as your Ann Marie Gruber. I don't have anything concrete but the children I have are:
1. Margaret (Maggie) 1960 Germantown, Washington, WI
2. John 1864
3. Ann Schuster 1865
In 1880 Brookfield, Waukesha, WI they are listed as follows:
Schuster John 53 head farmer Baden
Caroline 52 wife keeping house Baden
Maggie 20 daughter WI
Ann 15 daughter WI
John 17 son WI

maybe there were 2 John's in Washington County at the same time. maybe they were brothers. It seems with German roots alot of the men were Johann even brothers they would have different middle names. anyways it is interesting. Karen

Karen,
I have found several John Schusters in the Wisconsin area, but have not found how or if they are related, yet.
I too, find it weird that your Kunigunde and my Anna would have the same birthday. Are you sure of your sources?

The name Kundigunde came from a marraige lisence but the birthdate I am not sure where that was from. I can tell you that my John is born around 1821 in Germany with his wife. I don't really have any other information. Did your John have a Margaret about 1860? This is the relative that I am looking for. She married Carl Frederick Goerke in 1881. They lived in Brookfield, Waukesha, WI

Karen,
Although my John Sr. was born around 1821 in Germany, he married Maria Anna Gruber in Washington Co. and lived there most of their life. I don't see any Margaret in this Schuster line. John and Anna only had sons. This is obviously a different line, but a good possibility they were related somehow. There were many Schusters that came to Waukesha and Washington Co. around the same time.
