Dear Paula, thank you for your kind offer. Obtaining info for washington county, has been extremely difficult. If you wouldn't mind, I would be grateful for whatever info you can find on James and Hannah Helmer. They lived in hartford, between 1848 and 1882 . Hannah may have been there longer, but I know that James died there in that year. He and Hannah were both born in New york. I have the info from the 1880 census, which lists them and their four youngest children who were still at home. Likewise if yu have any info on Alva and Lucy Helmer, Willliam Helmer, Barney O helmer, catherine helmer. these are the four youngest children. Also, if you can locate the family of Thomas Ewer, who lived in that area at the same time.Lucy Ewer, married Alva F Helmer.
