Am researching the GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH CEMETERY (aka the German Evangelical Church Cemetery) located at the NW corner of Capitol Dr and Calhoun Rd (Sect 4, Twn/Brookfield). Burials, 1865-1955.
Have already contacted: Waukesha Co Museum Research Center, Register of Deeds Office at Co courthouse, Church Historian of Trinity United Church of Christ (Evangelical Trinity Lutheran Church in former times) with regard to cemetery & church records, land deeds, plat maps, newspapers, etc.
The GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH organized prior to 1863 and later disbanded, date unknown. Henry CLASEN and Henry GOETZ, among early congregation. (CLASEN, GOETZ and others also early members of Evangelical Trinity Lutheran Church, founded 1869.) All records of the GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH are said to have been lost in a fire. Would like to know if and/or when the GERMAN LUTHERAN CHURCH was built and if and/or when the devastating fire took place. Would also appreciate hearing from others who have ancestors buried at the cemetery. (Mine: HENGSTLER, SCHAEFLE/SCHAEFFEL)
Also looking for info re: FAIRVIEW SCHOOL, formerly located at the NE corner of Capitol Dr and Calhoun Rd (Sect 3, Twn/Brookfield). What happened to this school? Did the school ever have a fire? If so, when? Which School District did this school belong to?
Info and comments appreciated.
