My name is Dean Maney, I'm 45 years old and have lived in the Milwaukee WI area all my life.
My father, Donald R. Maney, died in 1971, he never talked about his family. I found the start of an old Family Tree and started to do some research two months ago.
I have found a lot of information in the Waupaca WI area. My great great Grandfather was John Maney born 1813. His wife's name was Rose (nee McGinnis ?) He moved to Waupaca County, WI from Lumberland Township, Sullivan County, NY in 1854 / Roberts obit.
He had four children, according to the 1860 WI census. They and their son John moved to Gordon NE (1886). According to her obituary (1897) in
the Waupaca County Post, they are both buried there.
John Jr. last heard from near Billings, Montana in 1918 / Roberts obit .
Marguret Ann married Silas Davis, lived in the Waupaca, WI. area and two sons Dwight and Samuel and a daughter Lucy / Waupaca County Post .
Elmira, we believe they called her Mary, and that she married James Newman ( Newman's Corner ) and lived in the Waupaca WI area / Rose Maney obit .
Robert Everett Maney, was my great Grandfather ( wife Martha nee Galbraith). They had 5 children, Ida, Nettie, Fredrick, Albert, and Frank.
Ida married George Lashua and lived in Evart MI (1918) and Plymouth MI (1948). They had a son according to Robert's 1918 obituary......I just received a letter from Mrs. Edward J. Perpente, of Sarasota FL, a Lashua
descendant. Ida had 10 children, 28 grand children, and there are 48 great grand children.
Nettie died (1891) 4 years after getting sick from saving a child that had fallen through the ice / Waupaca County Post obit .
Fredrick (wife Anna nee Larson) had two sons, Everett and DeRonda. We also believe that Fredrick moved to Van Nuys, CA, in the 30's and worked as security at a motion picture studio ( Waupaca county Post / Donald Maney's
first wife Maureen nee Doerfler). Through research I just received DeRonda's death certificate from L.A.County CA. He died in Oct. 1970.
Albert was last known to have lived in Greenwood WI. We believe that Albert, according to the 1905 census, had two sons, David and Lloyd, ages 4 and 2. We found mortgage papers, from 1920, at the Clark County Courthouse
in Neilsville, WI that say Albert's wife's name was Jesse.
Frank was my Grandfather. He died in 1948. He and his wife Daisy(nee Smith) ran the Riverview Hotel on the North end of Main Street from 1919 to 1930. They had three children. My father was the only one to live to adulthood.
I sure would appreciate any help or information you could possibly offer in this quest.
