How fantastic! David's great-grandfather, Wilder Crane, was a brother to Henry W. Crane. His great-grandmother, Isabella Richie, was a sister to Emaline Richie. So both my husband and your friend were descended from the Crane's and the Richie's! I am in the process of gathering more information on the Richie's. I already have gathered quite a body of information on the Crane's. Most of the ancestors of that family were in New England in the 17th century, some as early as 1630 in the Plymouth Plantation. The Crane's have ancestors who fought in King Philip's War, the Revolutionary War, etc. Thank you for this information. I had Henry's family down to Harold L. Crane, but no further information. I would love to see some of the obituaries, etc. I have none of that. If your friends in Eau Claire would like info on the Crane's, I'd be more than happy to share that with them.
I'm in the Sociology Dept. at EC, so am there frequently even though we live between Chippewa and Cadott.
