I am looking to connect with anyone else who is interested in these families which were early settlers in Hancock, Waushara Co. William C. Stannard and son W. L. are buried in Hancock Cemetery; William's wife was Lucy Wooden. Hiram Barnes's wife was Mary Stan(n)ard. Sullivan Hugaboom, brother of Brown C. Hugaboom, married Permelia/Amelia/Emelia Woodin, niece of Lucy Wooden. I think Mary (Stannard) Barnes was the niece of William Stannard, probably the daughter of William's brother, the Rev. Henry B. Stannard of Ohio. Levi A. Babcock married a daughter (Eliza) of William C. and Lucy (Wooden) Stannard. Some of these people are in Winnebago County in the 1850 Census along with another Stannard connection: Washington Manuel and his wife Jane (Stannard) Manuel, who is the daughter of William C. and Lucy Stannard.
They all came west from Ohio to northern Illinois or southern Wisconsin and then migrated first to Winnebago Co. and then some moved on to Waushara County by 1860.
