MRS. BARBARA HARNESS IS CALLED BY DEATH
Neenah- Mrs. Barbara HARNESS, 78, widow of the late Arthur J. Harness, died this morning at 11 o'clock at her home at 406 Sherry street. She had been ill for five years.
She was born in the town of Waupaca Nov. 15, 1866, and was married in Waupaca in 1897.(*hard to read, possibly 1887). The couple moved to the town of Neenah in that year and to the city of Neenah in 1919. Mrs. Harness was a member of the First Methodist church, the women's missionary society of the church, and of the Woman's Relief Corps.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Fred Nixon of Neenah, three brothers, John Stoner of Amherst, George Stoner of Milwaukee and Frank Stoner of Lansford, N.D., two sisters, Mrs. Flora Packer of Marshfield, Va., and Mrs. Edwin Bridgeman of Waupaca.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Pelton funeral home and at 2 0'clock at the First Methodist church, the Rev. William A. Riggs conducting. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
** Researcers note** Barbara was adopted at age 7 by my GGG grandmother Maria (Palmer) Pitcher Beardmore of Waupaca, after her mother died.
