Bean Causes Death
Eddie, the young son of Frank Schilling, a well-known Marshfield farmer, met death in a peculiar manner. During a violent fit of coughing he died within a few minutes from strangulation. It was found upon examination by a physician that an ordinary bean was lodged in his throat. The bean had passed into the lungs where the surrounding mouisture casued it to swell to double its original size. It was forced by the lung in coughing to the throat, where it lodged between the vocal cords, causing strangulation.
