"Looking for these surnames in Wisconsin. Unknown County. Hernigle's in Milwaukee in late 19th century. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

I checked the now legendary collection called "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950). But there are no entries for any Hernigle, Hernigle, Hernikl, Hernegel surnames. But there was a Louise (Hornickle) Jaehnert, d. 1936; and a Joseph Bingenheimer married a Mrs. M. Harnicel, 23 Oct 1855.

Another source would be the Wisc. Hist. Soc. database at www.wisconsinhistory.org and use the % as a wildcard in your spelling.
