A quick look at the death notice for Johann S. Meister includes his wife, and sons Leonhard, John & Philipp (German spelling ;-). The obit. on the same page prints his name as John L. Meister showing that the German papers are not without discrepancies. Who knows what the other two German newspapers printed?

Some Milwaukee researchers and librarians will tell you not to bother with the German papers.
