Probably our Boyds are related. Mine started out in St. Philippe for only a year or so, and then ended up in Sherrington. Then Samuel Sr. went to Owen Sound in 1846 to join son William, with Samuel Jr. leaving Sherrinton about 1843 when he got married and going to Meaford, Ontario. I found a document signed in Laprairie in 1831 with a Samuel and Robert Boyd signing, but I think they lived in Sherrington at the time. I am assuming they were Samuel Sr. and son Robert. By 1841, Robert had gone to the USA but I don't know where. Where did your Boyds go? Maybe he went there as well. Some of my next generation (William's son Samuel) went to Michigan. I have written a couple times to a descendant of William's son Samuel (so many Samuels) who put out a message on rootsweb but she has never answered. She might be able to help me, especially if Robert went to that area as well. Son John as you know has evaporated. In 1847, John was supposed to be a schoolmaster in the lower province but can't find him in 1852 so perhaps he moved on.
