DENVER, COLO-Dr. Louis Gerard Booth, 83, died Saturday, Oct 27, in Veterans Hospital in Denver following a lengthy illness.
He was born in St. Joseph, Mo., on April 16, 1907, a son of Louis Charles and Lillian(Gerard)Booth. The family moved to Sheridan, Wyo., the following year where they have lived ever since.
He attended school in Sheridan, at the University of Wyoming and at Northwestern Medical School. He practiced medicine in Acme, Wyo., for three years as a mine doctor and opened his medical practice in Sheridan in 1937. He continued his practice until he retired in 1977.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a flight surgeon, serving in the U.S. and overseas. In 1934, he married Virginia Gascoigne in Spokane, Wash. She died in 1976. On June 1, 1977, he married Ruth I. Clark of Denver. They have lived in Denver and Sheridan.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, and two sons, Frederick and Michael all of Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter Virginia Core of Greybull, Wyo.,eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No funeral services are planned.
