Thank you Alison i appreciate your assistance and kind offer. I went to beechworth recently and did the tour which is why im now so interested to find out more about some of the terrible reasons sane people were commited. Im also very interested in the Govener who ran the place as it would appear he was the one that was slightly crazy. I wil contact Adam too and see if he has some information that he can share with me. I ordered a book from the muesuem called Lion of beechworth that im hoping will have some case studies in it. Im suprised at the lack of information that is available on the people who were commited. But im so intrigued as to what happened to these poor people over the years.
