Hi all and thanks for your esponses, very much appreciated. I think this is why I gave up looking my family tree up a couple of years back (and the fact that I cannot get anywhere with my great grandfather on my mums side as he was adopted).

The information I have (cant remember where I got it from now) is this:

Henry (Tas) was not divorced from Phyllis. He never married Margaret/Winifred Byrnes.
Her birth name is Catherine Bun.
Henry's relationship with this lady is first noted with the birth of their first child, Tasman Leslie, in July 1904. On the birth and death certificates for their 7 children, she is known variously as Winifred Byrne, Kathleen Winifred Byrnes, Winifred Byrnes, Margaret Byrnes, The Eagle Farm Cemetery has a grave containing Henry Tasman Hopwood and 3 of his children with Margaret Byrnes plus Winifred C. Story who was buried on 14 May 1938. The Dutton Park/South Brisbane Index to Monumental Inscriptions names her as Winifred Catherine Hopwood, who died on 13 May 1938. No-one with a surname Byrnes or Hopwood died on that day. However, Catherine Story died on 13 May 1938. She was the daughter of Ah Bun and Winifred Callaghan, who were married on 8 September 1881. Catherine Bun was born on 1 March 1882.
Catherine Story's death certificate (1938/039537), states that her parents were Ah Bun and Winifred Callaghan, that she was a widow aged 56. She married Robert Story (probably deceased) when she was 45, circa 1927. Her 4 extant children are named plus 1female and 2 males deceased. These are the 7 children she and Henry had. Her daughter Grace Hoveling of 17 Spring Street, Fortitude Valley was an informant.
