Classification: Query
He included the name "Wentworth" in each of his children's names. We know this is not from their mother but, so far, we've not been able to link him to any Wentworth.
NoteS:
There was a Phillip STANLAKE from Cornwall way - not him.
There was a 'P E Stanlake' in the New Zealand army (WW1) - not him.
There was a John Edward Stanlake WOLLINGTON - not him.
POSSIBLE LINKS
1) There may have been a link to Frederick STANLAKE (m. Emily Prudhoe) who died in action in WW1 but this is some way from being proved.
2) May be a link to Eliza Mountain who married Thomas STANLAKE in London area; she had a son John (not PES) who was probably illegitimate (she claimed to be a widow "Eliza Kirk at her wedding). I wonder if she had another son prior to marrying Thomas - no evidence yet except anecdotal from descendents of Eliza and Thomas.
