George Victor Cruikshank was my maternal grandfather's youngest brother and, according to the 1901 England census, he was living in Newcastle-upon-Tyne with his father James, who was a widower.

George Victor was aged 16 years on that census and although I cannot find a birth entry for him I have put his date of birth at about 1883/84. His mother Ann (nee Ferguson) seems to have died around that time, so she may have died during, or shortly after, his birth.

George Victor married Jemima Grant in the December quarter 1906 in Newcastle and they had two children that I know of; Victor born in the September quarter 1908 and Lewis G born in the September quarter 1912, both in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumbria, England.

I wondered if some kind person could help me to establish what happened to the family once they arrived in Queensland.

I would be grateful for any help that anyone may be able to give and thank you for reading my message.

Brenda.
