Deaths at Sea, Liverpool to Keppel Bay, 1865, Empress of the Seas

Classification: Death
The “Empress of the Seas” left Gravesend on June 18, 1865, and dropped anchor several months later in Keppel Bay in Central Queensland, Australia. Twenty-eight deaths were listed in its “deaths at sea” record for this voyage and have been transcribed here from an original document. I have no further information.

Brackets indicate that the passenger died on board, during the voyage, and gives “date of death” and cause (and age, if different than noted on passenger list).

You’ll find the name, followed by the age of each person. This is NOT a complete passenger list. In fact, the only thing that I can say has been faithfully transcribed are the listed deaths. I’ve included, however, names of other people who appeared on the passenger list with the same surname as the deceased. Hopefully, this will help you hook them into family units.
