Hi Jenny,

The 'Register of Emigrant Laborers applied for free passage to South Australia' is in the National Archives UK. The registers cover the period 1836 to 1841. There is a photocopy in the State Library of South Australia (SLSA). The registers were indexed a long time ago (known as the Pike Index) and the index cards are also in SLSA. Other libraries probably have microfilm copies of one or the other.

I have a photograph of the original page of the register which records the applications for both the Victory family and the Kiernan family. I am travelling at the moment and don't have access to that photo but may be able to get another photo in the next week or so as I will be in the National Archives UK. I can email you a copy if you give me an email address.

Another discussion thread at:
http://boards.ancestry.com.au/localities.oceania.australia.s...
discusses the register. It suggests that there will be a transcription available on CD soon.
