Margaret Heaton (Cook) was first married to William Cook for a few months before he died when he drowned in a fishing accident in the Tamar river in Launceston. She was 17 and pregnant at the time of his death. Shortly after she took up with Samuel Watson. Her child with William Cook was born in Feb 1844 and given the name William Samuel Watson even though it was not Samuels child. To the best of my knowledge he treated the boy as his own and he went on to marry a Miss Charlotte Bryan of Chudleigh.
