Just quickly - your friend Linda contacted me and gave me access to her amazing Tree - wow- what a lot of work she has done!
Secondly - I didn't really look at AnnLyd's second marriage with great interest...but now you have thrown this latest grenade into the mix, I have had another look! I didn;t realise they had gone to Sth Australia! Did you see the bankruptcy notices in the NZ papers for Saul, a pianist?? He also had a pseudonym....George Lacy SEYMOUR....so he was over there in 1871 at least - ( actually forget that - already discussed)
Also neither of AnnLyd's daughters born in NZ even had HER name on the Births register - certificates would be needed...but I have just realised something vital - now I know why Cornelius took only LydHen with him..I wondered why he chose her- she is his only child! I'll take a bet on that! Maybe also, thats why no one ever found her again- maybe Cornelius gave her another name so the mother couldn't find her - a lot of folk punish everyone when they are unhappy!
ALSO- did you see this birth in NZ?
1868/10225 Seymour George Lacy Mum:Ellen Dad:George Lacy
I see an S FLATAU sailing off from Sydney via Auckland to Honolulu in 1870 on the Wonga Wonga
I see a George Lacy SEYMOUR, Tobacconist in Adelaide was insolvent -1883 - so he must be your man- his father seemed quite wealthy so its odd Albert had so many problems...
what do you thinks about the Mr CHIDGEY, 38, sailing off to NZ in 1878 - makes him born 1840...the only other poss is it would be his brother George - but I doubt it
do you know if Cornelius Snr left a Will in 1909? That would be interesting get
