How do you find all of this?? I've found some of it myself but you always seem to have that bit more!

I found RJ Meagher on ancestry & sent a message but have had no reply so far (several weeks). I might have to send a letter. He's in the same city as me and I've got his address from the white pages, I've been holding back though on that because that might seem a bit stalkerish.I'll check with my coresearcher in NZ she may have seen his papers.

And a convict has come into the story at last, all my Tidswell's were free imigrants so I haven't had much call to go trawling convict records.

What I'm most interested in is the notice in the paper re any debts of LydAnn dated Nov 1867. This lends weight to my suspicions that my Chidgey connection Annie Georgina (one of LydHen's younger sisters who were born in NZ & who married into my Tidswell's) may have really been the daughter of Albert Saul Flatau, LydAnn's second husband rather than Cornelius. AnnGeo was born in 1868...obviously the marriage was on the rocks before she was born. AnnGeo never used Chidgey as her surname. Mind you, she also may never have met Cornelius even if he was her father & that may be why she used Albert Saul's surnames.

I'll have to look into what you've turned up in more detail.

Many thanks once again for such a tremendous effort
Best regards
Wendy
